Rukhsar Hasan Askari is a senior solicitor at Wimbledon Solicitors, working from both the South Wimbledon and Tooting offices. She practises in immigration, asylum, human rights and nationality law, and also provides document certification services. She has around twelve years of experience in legal practice and has been with the firm since 2018. She was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in February 2021.

Her work covers a broad range of immigration matters, including applications and appeals, asylum and protection claims, human rights applications, settlement, family and private life applications, nationality matters, immigration bail and judicial review proceedings.

Rukhsar has particular expertise in supporting victims of domestic abuse. This includes applications under the Migrant Victims of Domestic Abuse Concession and SET (DV) applications for indefinite leave to remain. She assesses whether clients may be eligible for access to public funds, housing and other essential support, and she helps them obtain and present the evidence their applications require.

1. Education

   LLB (Hons) and Legal Practice Course

   Rukhsar read law at the University of Westminster and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at BPP University.

2. 2018

   Joined Wimbledon Solicitors

   Rukhsar joined the firm's immigration team, working across the South Wimbledon and Tooting offices.

   Admitted as a solicitor

   Rukhsar was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales and is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

   Elected Councillor for Wrythe Ward

   Rukhsar was elected as Councillor for Wrythe Ward in the London Borough of Sutton, a role that reflects her wider commitment to supporting individuals, families and the local community.
