Our child law team advises parents, grandparents and guardians across London on child arrangements, specific issue and prohibited steps orders, and care proceedings brought by a local authority.
Most private child law work is handled on a fixed fee, agreed and confirmed in writing before we start. Where a local authority is involved in care proceedings, Legal Aid is usually available regardless of your income. Facing care proceedings? You may not have to pay
If a local authority has started care proceedings about your children, it is one of the most frightening things a parent can face. You do not have to go through it without a solicitor, and in most care cases the cost is not a barrier. Legal Aid for care proceedings is usually available to parents regardless of income, when a local authority brings a case under section 31.
